Benefit: Soft shadow lines give a sense of depth and refinement to the Landmark prodcuct line, which is available in a variety of colors. Landmark asphalt shingles are sturdy, at 245 lbs. per square, and are backed by a 30-year warranty from manufacturing defects, a 5-year warranty against winds up to 70 mph, and a 10-year algae-resistance warranty.

Feature: Ridge vent attic ventilation.
Benefit: Normal household activities can wreak havoc on a house if proper attic & roof ventilaion is not provided. In cold weather, warm air generated by laundry, showers, dish washing and cooking can linger in the house and cause moisture build-up. In the summer, heat build-up encourages premature aging and cracking of wood and roofing materials. Unwanted heat can also transfer back down into living areas, reducing energy efficiency. In a balanced attic ventilation system, wind blowing over the ridge creates a negative pressure that draws the warmer air out of the attic. Replacement air enters through the undereave or soffit vents, bathes the underside of the roof, and exits at the ridge cap through ridge vents. Even with no wind, the natural convection action of rising warm air maintains a continuous airflow along the underside of the roof. It’s a system that works year-round with no moving parts or energy consumption. By reducing moisture levels year-round, the life of structural wood, roof decking, and shingles are lengthened by reducing mildew and rot.
